Presentation by Mayor Pro-Tem Steve Berry

As soon as Michael was old enough for baseball, Ken became involved with the City of Buena Park’s P-nut baseball program. He loved the idea of teaching sportsmanship and having fun rather than focusing on winning.  In two of the first three seasons their team won the sportsmanship award.  In the following 11 years, Parks and Recreation became his focus with the boys, coaching two teams in different age divisions.

At his memorial service it should have came as no surprise when Connie looked up and saw the Indians and Red Sox (his teams at the time) in their uniforms to honor him along with many others that came to befriend him along the way. Nor did it surprise her when her two sons told her they wanted to play in their first P-nut baseball tournament game of the season one day after his death to honor him. Yes, Ken Allen Jaquette truly was a rich man!
