SUMMER PARKS AND PLAYGROUNDS PDF (782k)

The parks and playground program begins in mid-June until mid-August (see flyer for exact dates). Recreation Staff at parks plan free programs that include sports, games, caroms, billiards, crafts etc. for children 6 - 12 years of age. Clubhouses are open Mon.-Fri. from 12-4 p.m. during the eight week summer program.

Three special “ Park Happenings” events are held at high noon at Peak Park. Check the schedule for details.

SPECIAL “PARK HAPPENINGS”!
All park programs and clubhouses are closed on these FREE special “Park Happening” days held at 12 noon at Peak Park. Children, Parents, Day care groups are all invited to Peak Park for these summer events! Large groups need to call the Recreation Office (714) 236-3860 for pre-arrangements.

"PICASSO'S IN THE PARK" - July 7, 2005
Held at Peak Park – everything goes this day. Kids will create several huge art projects using crafts materials, paint, chalk, boxes, paper, tape etc. The park itself will become our canvas.

"WACK-O-LYMPICS" - July 14, 2005
Held at Peak Park this very popular event keeps kids so busy laughing that they can barely finish the races. Try wheelbarrow races, marshmallow whisteling, crazy relays, and much more! FREE!

"THE GREAT SPLASH" - August 11, 2005
Held at Peak Park. Not a dry child will be left standing at the rip-roaring -wild-water-wars event. Slip'n'slides, water balloons, wet tug-o-wars, the works - expect to get very, very wet! FREE!

BEACH PARTY BLOWOUT - Aug. 4, 2005
This bus trip will cost only $1.00 for each child and $2.00 for any parent who wants come and build sand castles. Children under 7 years must be accompanied by an adult. Pack up a lunch, plenty of suntan lotion and let's play. Beach location changes from year to year. Pre-registration is a must. (714) 236-3860.
