Water Rates

Water rates for all customers have been adjusted due to increased costs and limited supply.

Your City of Buena Park water bill consists of three parts:

  1. The Water Capacity Charge, which is a fixed rate depending on the meter size and is charged whether or not you use any water;
  2. The Commodity Charge, which is dependent on your water usage; and
  3. The Capital Charge, which is 10% of the sum on the Capacity and Commodity charges.

Wholesale Pass Through Adjustment

The variable charges shown in the "Water Consumption Charge" reflect the City's forecast of increases in wholesale water costs.  In the event that the City's costs of wholesale water, which are imposed on the City by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California or by the Orange County Water District, exceed the variable charges shown in the chard, the City will pass-through to its customers the Wholesale Pass-Through Adjustment during the five-year period from May 11, 2016 to June 30, 2020.
