For over 30 years, patrons are sent on cultural excursions to places of interest throughout Central and Southern California. The Rose Parade, Solvang Danish Days Celebration, The Getty Museum, The Griffith Observatory, and the Pantages Theatre are popular destinations. This is a ticketed event.
PICK-UP LOCATION: All times listed are based upon departure from and arrival to the Buena Park Community Center. Sign up for excursions by registering in person at the Community Center located at 6688 Beach Blvd., between Stanton Ave. and Beach Blvd. at Pinchot Ct., behind City Hall or online, links to each excursion's registration page are listed below. The Griffith Observatory is an icon of Los Angeles, a national leader in public astronomy, a beloved civic gathering place, and one of Southern California’s most popular attractions. Operated by world-famous Wolfgang Puck, The Café at the End of the Universe serves snacks, cool drinks, full meals, and delicious desserts. At the star party amateur astronomers share their telescopes with the general public to look at the sun, moon, visible planets, and other objects. Its an opportunity to try out a variety of telescopes and to talk to astronomy enthusiasts about the sky and their equipment.
Descanso Gardens - "Enchanted: Forest of Light"

Descanso Gardens is famed for its beauty during the day, and now you can enjoy this SoCal treasure in a whole new way. As the sun sets, the gardens transform into an Enchanted Forest of Light. During this colorful interactive experience, you can stroll through a mile of Descanso Gardens' most beloved areas while marveling at 10 distinct lighting displays. Located in La Canada Flintridge, Descanso is a 160-acre outdoor wonderland, featuring the Camellia Forest and floral displays in the International Rosarium, natural growth in the world-famous Japanese garden and Oak Woodland. With the Enchanted Forest of Light, these sights are now even more magical.
