Art in Public Places is a new program that will activate public spaces, engage the attention of drivers or pedestrians, and celebrate the history and culture of Buena Park. Moving forward, all new parks and capital improvement projects will incorporate a public art component.
What began as an internal project (and design) of the Community Services Aquatics Program, blossomed into a community project that engaged volunteers at the 2019 Love Buena Park event, has now reached its current state as a professional mural that faces the internal wall of the Peak Park Pool.
In July 2019, artist Maria Balseiro completed the piece and it is now available to view along the west wall.
Utility Box Art
At the direction of the Buena Park City Council, the Utility Box Art Program celebrates its inaugural design in December 2019. Located on La Palma Ave., next to the Buena Park Fire Authority Station #61, this design by local artist and Fine Arts coordinator, Lauren Morales, expresses the City's support of our brave firefighters who keep the City's residents and visitors safe.
