ABOUT THE SHOW
One of the most engaging performances in the history of the Buena Park Youth Theatre is coming to the stage. You won’t want to miss this one! Les Misérables is based on a 1800s French classic novel about Jean Valjean, a noble peasant and his desire for redemption, who was imprisoned for 19 years after stealing a loaf of bread for his sister’s starving child. It promises to challenge the mind and charm the heart as the story reflects upon crime and punishment and the need to escape the imprisonment of our own minds.
The City of Buena Park’s Fine Art Division, in association with Palmer Productions, is proud to present Godspell (2012), this summer's musical theatre production for Civic Theatre Under the Stars at The Plaza at Ehlers Event Center. Auditions will be digital submissions only. Please prepare a 1-minute audition tape where you sing 16 bars from a pop/rock song and give your best impression of a celebrity (living or dead). Please e-mail your audition tape, resume, and headshot to director Alan Palmer at email@example.com. We are looking for 10 performers who are strong pop/rock singers, dancers, and actors. Open casting; performers of any ability, ethnicity, or background may apply.
E-mail a headshot, tape, and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org by April 12, 2020.
ABOUT GODSPELL (2012): A small group of people help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life.
REHEARSALS and PERFORMANCES: Rehearsals are Monday evenings from 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. from July 31, 2020 until September 17, 2020. Tech week and performances will be held at The Plaza at Ehlers Event Center, 8150 Knott Ave, Buena Park, CA 90620. There will be four performances total on September 18-19 and 25-26 2020.
E-mail a headshot, tape, and resume to email@example.com.
