New Project - Buena Park City Operations Yard

Project Summary:
Buena Park’s new City Operations Yard Project consists of moving into an existing improved facility consisting of 100,000 s.f. of 2 & 3 story tilt-up building on just under 4 acres of improved property. The Project consists of the conversion of the existing manufacturing and office spaces into the functional spaces of the multiple facets of the City’s day to day support operations, including vehicle maintenance, streets and signs, water and sewer, engineering, traffic operations, and more. The Project will require modifications to the existing building from hard and soft demolition and structural modifications including foundations, masonry walls, and structural steel. Interior finishes consisting of standard industrial finishes will be provided with upgrades to the electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems. The site improvements will include a new fuel station, metal canopy structures for equipment and materials storage, storm water management measures, security fencing, and updated landscape and irrigation. The Project is envisioned to start near the end of the 2010 calendar year and take 7- 9 months to complete.
All contractors who intend to submit a bid for the project must be prequalified prior to submitting their bid. For a description of the prequalification process and to download the prequalification package, follow the directions below:

4. Under Project Specific Forms, click on City of Buena Park
5. Complete the form and hit submit.
6. A response email will be sent within 1 business day with the login and password

The Construction Manager will maintain a list of registered contractors; contractors will only be advised of Addenda and changes to submission dates if they are registered. Contractors who do not register risk being unaware of important changes to the RFP documents.
Prequalification packages can also be obtained from the Director of Public Works during the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday at:

Prequalification packages will also be available at the informational meeting to describe the project, the prequalification process, and to respond to questions, which will be held on September 14, 2010 at 10:00 am in the City Council Chamber
Deadline to submit a fully complete prequalification questionnaire with attachments is Friday, September 24 at 2:00 pm.
