It’s hip, it’s all the rage, and it’s right around the corner. Seniorstock 2010 is the place to be August 28 if you’re looking for a stimulating day of education, entertainment, and healthy lifestyle activities. Presented by the Buena Park Senior Activity Center, Seniorstock 2010, formally known as the Senior Citizens Resource and Information Fair, is one of Orange County’s favorite annual events attracting up to 1,000 fans each year.
Featured attractions include free admission, entertainment and parking, and over 80 exhibitor information tables. Attendees can interact with health professionals, housing providers, and financial planners regarding:
- health maintenance
- home health agencies
- elder law attorneys
- senior publications
- AARP
- hospice providers
- other businesses and service organizations
The event also features limited medical testing, free samples, discounts, and individual drawings for prizes. Many non-profit organizations will be there as well including the Red Cross, Lupus and Arthritis Foundations, and many more.
Guests may bring their non-controlled medicines (in original containers including bottles, foils and boxes) and their unwanted or used sharps to be disposed of at special locations at the event. Sharps must be enclosed in rigid, puncture-resistant sealed containers such as a 2-liter soft drink bottle. Used batteries can also be deposed of in this “green” area.
This is one groovy day for seniors and Boomers to gather information for inner peace or for a loved one. Everyone is welcome! Seniorstock 2010 is being held at the Buena Park Senior Activity Center located in the Walter D. Ehlers Community Recreation Center at 8150 Knott Ave., Buena Park.
