This annual event, sponsored by the Buena Park Mayor's Prayer Breakfast Committee and The Knott Family, gives local clergy and area residents an opportunity to congregate and share an inspirational message to begin each holiday season.
This year, the City of Buena Park Mayor Elizabeth Swift invites the public to experience the incredible story of faith with Christy Beam at the 2017 Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast. Ed Arnold, Buena Park’s “Honorary Mayor,” returns as Master of Ceremonies. The event also includes a non-denominational ceremony, and a musical program featuring the Wimberley Bluegrass Band.
Keynote Address Speaker Christy Beam is the author of “MIRACLES FROM HEAVEN: A Little Girl, Her Journey to Heaven, and Her Amazing Story of Healing.” In 2016, this miraculous story was adapted into a major motion picture by Sony Pictures Entertainment starring Jennifer Garner and Queen Latifah.
In MIRACLES FROM HEAVEN, Christy tells the true story of her heartache, family struggles, and personal determination to find a cure for the rare digestive disorder plaguing her young daughter, Annabel. While struggling to survive, this brave little girl endured a dangerous accident, journeyed to heaven, and miraculously returned free of symptoms. Christy Beam’s uplifting story is an amazing testament to faith and family. Christy lives in Texas with her husband Kevin, and three beautiful, Godly girls.
Musical Guest The Wimberley Bluegrass Band is an Orange County-based musical group comprised of four multi-talented siblings. Named one of Los Angeles' Top Five Bluegrass Bands by CBS-LA, the group provides fun and wholesome musical entertainment while keeping the traditional sounds of bluegrass alive and well. Each sibling sings, as well as specializes in playing a mandolin, banjo, fiddle or guitar. The band has performed at Southern California Bluegrass festivals and other venues throughout state, and have toured nationally.
