COVID-19 EMERGENCY RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The City is providing rental assistance to residents financially impacted by COVID-19.
Buena Park, Calif. – The City of Buena Park is providing rental assistance to Buena Park residents who have been financially impacted by COVID-19 and are struggling to pay rent. The COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program provides eligible applicants assistance of up to $1,500 per month for up to three months.
“After seeing the overwhelming need and interest in our initial rental assistance program, the City is pleased to have received additional funding to provide assistance to more renters facing financial hardship from COVID-19,” said Mayor Connor Traut. “We hope that these grants can help more Buena Park families.”
The program opens Monday, February 1, 2021, and applications will be accepted in-person on a first-come, first-serve system from 8:00am-5:00pm at City Hall. Applications are available now on the Rental Assistance Program webpage and at City Hall. Funds are limited, so the program will close once funds are reserved.
Eligibility requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Household income is at or below 80% of the Orange County Median Income
- Income/wages were impacted by COVID-19 after March 15, 2020
- Must not be receiving any other forms of rental subsidy for the period of time between March 15, 2020 and the date of submitted application (City’s initial rental assistance, section 8, rapid housing assistance, or rental assistance from non-profit agencies)
