To comply with Governor Newsom’s order yesterday, City Hall is closed to the public effective immediately. However, Fire, Police, Public Works/Parks and water division staff will continue to work to ensure that our City remains safe and essential services continue. The Police Department already has increased patrol and presence in the community. Staff is currently re-evaluating plans to ensure that the most vulnerable of our community, our seniors, continue to receive critical services they need during this challenging time.

How long will we stay home?
Starting Thursday evening, March 19, until further notice.

What can I do? What is open?
Essential services will remain open such as:

  • Gas stations
  • Pharmacies
  • Food: grocery stores, farmers markets, food banks, convenience stores, take-out and delivery
  • Banks
  • Laundromats/laundry services

Essential state and local governments will also remain open, including law enforcement and offices that provide government programs and services.

What is closed?

  • Dine-in restaurants
  • Bars and nightclubs
  • Entertainment venues
  • Gyms and fitness studios
  • Public events and gatherings
  • Convention Centers

The City will continue to stay on top of the local developments related to this issue and keep you updated. However, we ask that you also do everything you can to protect you and your family. Now, more than ever, is the time to be a good neighbor. Buena Park is the Center of the Southland; now it is time to show the region how Buena Park unites and overcomes in the face of adversity.
