Established in 1972, the City of Buena Park Redevelopment Agency is charged
with orchestrating orderly and progressive business, housing and community
development within the City. The five member City Council, sitting as the
Redevelopment Agency Board, oversee the Buena Park Consolidated Redevelopment
Project. The Project Area is 3,940 acres in size and includes approximately
50% of the City.
The primary objective of the Agency is to develop and implement a variety
of programs to eliminate blighting conditions found within the Project Area.
The Commercial Rehabilitation Program is one such effort to help clean up
distressed properties in the City's business districts. For more information, click

The Agency also sponsors a variety of housing programs, for which more
information can be found by clicking here. In general, however, the Agency
exercises the broad authority to acquire, develop, rehabilitate, administer,
sell, or lease property. Through these powers, the Agency can assist private
commercial and industrial development, provide improvement to public facilities
and infrastructure, create affordable housing opportunities and work jointly
with the private and public sectors to expand and diversify the City's
economic base.
Redevelopment Agency meetings are generally held on the second and fourth
Tuesday of each month at 5:00 p.m. Agendas are posted along with the City
Council agenda.
The City Manager serves as the
Agency's Executive Director, and May Wong
Hui serves as the Deputy Executive Director.
